How to get the name of the Oracle E-Business Suite ICX authentication cookie?

If you want to integrate other applications with Oracle E-Business Suite it might be needed to know the name of the so called ICX authentication cookie. For example to enable a SSO integration between Oracle E-Business Suite and OBIEE you will need this name.

To find this name it is often said in Oracle documentation that you can call a little javascript from the browser window however for the latest browsers we currently have this option is often prevented due to security reasons.

Most browsers have an option to view the current active cookies for particular websites - so also for your Oracle E-Business Suite session this information is available.

To get hold of the ICX authentication name in for example Google Chrome you need to login into your E-Business Suite instance.

When logged in press the key combination CTRL SHIFT J which will move you to the console of Chrome.

Go to the Resources option and navigate to the Cookies list within the treeview on the left. You'll see the domain name of your EBS instance. If you click on it you'll see the cookies for your EBS instance at the right. The first cookie mentioned there is the ICX authentication cookie. The value of the Name is the value you need for integration purposes.
