Change column order in Mass Update Progress in Project Management
For some reason Oracle removed the option to reorder columns in the Mass Update Progress view option of Project Management. As a comparison see below the option to reorder columns in the Project List Views. This option is enabled for these views for user views but also for the seeded views which are available (and can be changed by an administrator).
As said by intended functionality of eBS this option is removed from the views options for Mass Update Progress. In this case when a user wants to change a view or add his own view additional columns will always be placed at the end of the view - hence will also be displayed at the end of the table that is generated.
When an administrator wants to change the seeded views like Team Members's Open and Upcoming Tasks to add for example the Outline Number to the view (and use it also for sorting) the Outline Number is added to the end of the view which looks strange. The Outline Number should be displayed at the beginning of the view and we want to sort on it.
Because the ordering option is removed we have to do some personalizations here to make it happen. Execute the below steps in order to change a seeded view for Mass Update Progress, add the Outline Number to the view, reposition this column at the beginning of the view and add ordering to it. The view will be available for all the users - we implement the personalization at Site level.
First of all as we're changing a seeded view delivered by Oracle we have to enable some profile options and set it to the username who's going to do the change. Change the below profile options and set it for the specific username on value Y (for Yes).
- Create Seeded Personalizations
- FND: Personalization Region Link Enabled
- FND: Personalization Seeding Mode
- HR: Enable User Personalization
- Personalize Self-Service Defn
Click on the Eyeglasses Icon for the Advanced Table.
Click on Update for the view you want to change - in this case Team Members's Open and Upcoming Tasks.
Add the Outline Number to the columns displayed area. You'll notice it is added to the end of the view.
Change the sort setting of the view by sorting on Project and next the Outline Number in an ascending order. Next Apply your change.
We want to display the Outline Number at the beginning of the view. Go back to the Personalize page of Mass Update Progress. Under the Advanced Table part all the available columns are mentioned there. Search for the Outline Number column. The internal name of Outline Number for the view is taskcolumn42 (remember this) which is displayed after Column.
Click on the Reorder option for the Advanced Table.
You'll notice the levels on which reordering can be set (Function, Site, Organization and Responsibility). Check the Site level checkbox. Now all the columns are copied from the Original Definition to the Site level definition. Scroll down to taskcolumn42 and move it to the top of the list and Apply the change.
The Outline Number is now displayed at the left of the view and it is sorting on it.
